Try making love looking into your partner's eyes. Many people close their eyes whilst they are making love. It can help to intensify the physical sensations. We can bring our full awareness to those sensations without being distracted by what we are seeing.

But for this exercise, I invite you to keep your eyes open whilst making love. And your lover needs to keep his or her eyes open as well. And you should look into each other's eyes throughout the love making.

If you are not used to this, it can be quite challenging: to be seen, really seen, by your beloved. It's going to be much more difficult for you to fantasise about making love with someone else, if you are used to such infidelity.

So looking into your lover's eyes brings the possibility of a connection through the eyes, as well as through the genitals. And in particular, if you can maintain this eye contact whilst one of you, or both of you, are having an orgasm, then something remarkable might happen. For a few seconds at least, perhaps a few minutes, you have a chance to see infinity in your lover's eyes.

Orgasm is like a taste of enlightenment. For a moment, the thinking mind is put aside. One's whole attention is on the present moment, with a deep silence and spaciousness. All desires have gone. Everything we wish for has been sated. For a moment, we are truly still. This is our essence being revealed to us. And we can see it in each other's eyes at the moment of orgasm, and for a short while after.

So try it: try making love looking into your lover's eyes.
